Editor's comment Serpula vermicalluris is a lapsus calami for Serpula vermicularis; however, most records under this name from fouling communities, and certainly those from Indian waters, in reality are juveniles of Hydroides elegans (cf. ten Hove & Ben-Eliahu 2005) [details]
