Nomenclature In the same article, Bayle established twice the name Cerithium proditum as a replacement name for two different nominal species. On page 246, he established C. proditum for Cerithium fusiforme G.B. Sowerby II, 1855, non Cerithium fusiforme Leymerie, 1846. And on page 249, he established C. proditum for Cerithium pyramidatum Hombron & Jacquinot, 1848, non Cerithium pyramidatum Deshayes, 1833. Bayle (1881) later corrected his oversight and geve precedence to the substitute name for Cerithium fusiforme; for the substitute name for C. pyramidatum he established the name C. audouini [Philippe Bouchet, 3 Dec. 2021]
