Nomenclature Graff (1905, footnote on p.102) rightfully points out that the name Vortex Ehrenberg, 1831 is a junior synonym of Dalyellia Fleming, 1822. All species described within Vortex up to 1905 and that are indeed considered to belong to that genus by Graff (1905) were then automatically transferred to Dalyellia, with Graff (1905) as the authority of the new combination.
