Johanssonia abditovesiculata Moore 1952 and Ichthyobdella platycephali Ingram 1957 are transferred to Aestabdella gen. n. which is described. Specimens of Aestabdella abditovesiculata comb, n., parasitic in the mouth of Leptocottus armatus from Yaquina Bay estuary in Oregon, are described. Leeches are restricted to the upper estuary and occur only during late summer and early fall.
