Webbinella bassensis Parr 1945 is the sand-grain covered egg capsule of the gastropod Hydrobia buccinoides (Q&G 1833) (Mollusca: Hydrobiidae), not a foraminiferan. Accordingly, the former taxon must be added to the synonymy of the latter.
