Taxonomy This name was used to describe a coral found in the Philippines. It was synonymised with Sclerhelia hirtella (Pallas, 1766) but this was questionable (Cairns, 2010). This idea has been abandoned since that species is an endemic for St Helena, central Atlantic Ocean (Zibrowius et al. in press). Nemenzo's species is not mentioned in the most recent overview of hermatypic corals of the Philippines (Veron & Hodgson, 1989), and neither in Veron's (2000) Corals of the World, which mainly deals with zooxanthellate species. Therefore, for the time being, Sclerhelia dubia is considered a nomen dubium.
