Die Annelidensammlung in den Gallerien des Jardin des plantes ist ohne Zweifel eine der ansehnlichsten, welche die Europäischen Museen aufzuweisen haben, und schon deshalb von besonderem Interesse, weil man in ihr die Originalexemplare von Savigny, Cuvier, Blainville, Milne Edwards und Quatrefages vorzufinden erwarten kann. Diese Erwartung wird in der That sonst ziemlich durchgängig befriedigt, was aber Savigny
betrifft, so musste ich zu meinem Bedauern vernehmen, dass seine Sammlungen nie dem Museum übergeben sind, und man findet gegenwärtig von den zu jener Zeit bekannt gewordenen Anneliden des Rothen Meeres mehr in dem Berliner Museum, wohin sie durch Hemprich und Ehrenberg gekommen sind, als hier, wo man nur einige wenige antrifft.
