Magelona pitelkai Hartman from central California is redescribed and M. hobsonae n. sp., from Washington and British Columbia, M. hartmanae n. sp., from central and southern California, and M. dakini n. sp., from Australia, are described. These four species, along with M. filiformis Wilson, from England, form a discrete morphological group within the genus; a sixth species, M. capensis Day, from South Africa, may also be included.
