The study treats the abyssal species of the family Lumbrineridae collected by the Centre Océanologique de Bretagne. The material was collected in the Mediterranean Sea in 1970-71 (Polymède) and in the Atlantic Ocean from 1971 to 1976 (Walda, Biogas I-IV, Norbi and Incal). Ten eurybathyal and five bathyal or abyssal specis are reported from great depths. Three of them are new to science. two genera, Lumbrinerides and Lumbrineriopsis, are reviewed and three shallow water species are redescribed as new species as a consequence of this revision.
