This collection consists of the specimens that at various times during the last few years have been kindly submitted to me for identification by Professor C. Ping and Professor T. Y. Chen of the University of Amoy. The great majority are from Amoy, but a few are from Chefoo and Foochow. Unfortunately, my material was limited with few exceptions to one or perhaps two examples of each species, a state of things that not only enormously increases the difficulty for the systematist, but robs the collection of much of its value. I have described two new species --an Eunicid Marphysa sinensis and a Terebellid Neoleprea amoyensis. The curious Halosydna pilosa Horst is represented in the collection, and also Nephthys sinensis which has very recently been described by Fauvel from the Chinese coast. So far as can be seen from the present small collection, the Polychaete fauna at Amoy shows affinities both with that of Japan and with that of the Philippines.
