La croisière de la "Calypso" aux îles du Cap Vert, en fin d'année 1959, a ramené un grand nombre d'Annélides Polychètes.
M. Forest a bien voulu m'en confier l'étude et je suis heureux de l'en remercier, car la qualité de son envoi est exceptionelle. J'y ai trouvé 7 espèces nouvelles, dans une région qui avait pourtant été déjà bien étudiée. Sans parler d'Augener (1916-1918) qui avait publié un volume de près de 600 pages sur les Annélides de l'Ouest de l'Afrique, Fauvel (1950) avait déterminé les Annélides de Dakar recueillies par M. Sourie, puis Fauvel et Rullier (1957 et 1959) avaient de nouveau publié sur la faune annélidienne de cette région.
