WoRMS source details

The fundamental investigations of the marine benthic fauna around Japan still remain imperfect, especially around Hokkaido. Fortunately the author had the opportunity on board the "Tankai-Maru", the research boat of Hokkaido Regional Fisheries Research Laboratory, Yoichi, and the survey of the benthic invertebrates off the coast of the Shakotan Peninsula is under way since October 1967. The collections include many kinds of invertebrates from Porifera to Protochordata, among which polychaetes are now reported in this paper.
