Taxonomy Turritellopsinae has been ranked as a family Turritellopsidae and superfamily Turritellopsoidea by Starobogatov (1983). However this ranking has not been subsequently accepted, and the current state of the art is Turritellopsinae in the synonymy of Mathildidae. No subfamilies are recognized within the latter family.
