A new species of the genus Pilargis is described and figured. It occurred at three stations in the deeper parts of Fensfjorden, at depths between 412 and 580 m. It is distinguished from the other species in the genus by having slender setae with bifid tips and smooth edges. Comparison is made with the other species, and an identification key is provided.
