Taxonomy Proposed for Dendronereis, Dendronereides, and Tambalagamia. Several authors later commented this grouping is artificial. Subsequently based on molecular evidence Villalobos-Guerrero, Huc, Tilic, Hiley & Rouse, (2024) revalidated the subfamily, using the spelling Dendronereidinae, but only for genus Dendronereis, thus it is a monotypic subfamily, thus an unnecessary rank as genus Dendronereis encompasses the clade.. Spelling The original spelling of Pillai (1961: 2) was 'Dendronereinae'. The alternative subsequent spelling 'Dendronereidinae' would only be maintained if it was in prevailing usage (Code article 29.3.1.1). Currently there are very few usages as authors have not regarded the subfamily as a natural grouping. [details]Taxonomy Proposed for Dendronereis, Dendronereides, and Tambalagamia.
