Type material 1 specimen, holotype, NHMUK 1905.10.23.25, shows the exact same characteristics as Turritella knysnaensis Krauss, 1848, which is considered synonymous with Turritella capensis Krauss, 1848. as the latter synonymy still requires further clarification, the present species has provisionally been added to the synonymy of knysnaensis rather than directly to capensis. [details]

Type material 1 specimen, holotype, NHMUK 1905.10.23.25, shows the exact same characteristics as Turritella knysnaensis Krauss, 1848, which is considered synonymous with Turritella capensis Krauss, 1848. as the latter synonymy still requires further clarification, the present species has provisionally been added to the synonymy of knysnaensis rather than directly to capensis.
