Identification Magalhães et al (2014: 18 of 20) state that "material collected in Brazil is believed to belong to at least two different species based on pigmentation of live and preserved specimens and on body morphology." They state that Timarete punctata is a species complex. Presumably they mean that one or more further cryptic species has been placed as T. punctata. A single species always has its own identity. and cannot be a species complex. [details]
