Type material Southward (1959) fails to point to the holotype specimen in her account but she says the type is from the station collected off Spain. The specimen lot from that station contained 12 specimens. The location is Bay of Biscay, off N Spanish coast, 43.7167° -4.0333°, 1244-1774 m (converted from 680-970 fathoms) [details]
