Classification Wehe (2007) mostly does not include the subfamilies of Pettibone in his presentation. It is not possible from the commentary of Wehe to deduce accurately a subfamily for his new genus Mustaquimsthenelais, despite the inclusion of Sthenelais in the genus name.[details]
Etymology named for collector of the type species, Prof. Dr. Javed Mustaquim, combined with existing genus name, Sthenelais. Gender feminine (not stated but deduced from the feminine suffix of the adjectival species-group name) [details]
