Nomenclature In the original paper describing this species, the name was given as Sigiwedellia bathypelagica in the abstract. All subsequent usages in the paper were Sigiweddellia benthopelagica, notably in the title of the section treating the species. The etymological explanation also specifies Sigiweddellia benthopelagica as correct name.
