Taxonomic remark Based on Ailsa Clark 2001 in Clark & Mah: 260, "The locality 'Equador" was rejected by Fisher 1926: 198 who found the type material to be conspecific with Leptasterias arctica (Murdoch 1885) which it antedates. Fisher 1930 declared nautarum a NOMEN NUDUM. Bell's descriptions are fair to the name so it should be suppressed by the ICZN. [details]
