Echinoidea (sea urchins)
Clypeus plotii (aboral)
Description
Aboral side: With the five narrow ambulacra the test still resembles in appearance that of a regular echinoid. But as the periproct has moved out from the apical system, lying immediately posterior in a deeply depressed groove, the echinoid is bilaterally symmetrical with a clearly defined anterior and posterior.
Length 102 mm; Middle Jurassic, England.
