Echinoidea (sea urchins)
Aspidodiadema sp. (aboral)
Description
Aboral side. This specimen differs from the typical A. tonsum by the lack of larger tubercles on the ocular plates and by the distinctly naked spaces along the sutures between the ocular and genital plates and along the outer edge of the ocular plates. On the oral side the buccal plates form a conspicuous pentagon.
Diameter of test 21 mm; New Caledonia.
