Description
A mystery mollusc (Bathydevius caudactylus) observed by MBARI’s remotely operated vehicle (ROV) Tiburon in the outer Monterey Canyon at a depth of approximately 1,900 meters. Food is scarce in the midnight zone. The mystery mollusc uses a large oral hood to feed on nutrient-rich crustaceans.
