Type locality: No type locality was cited in the original description,
but the figured specimens (pl. 3, figs. 1–5) came from lagoon
mud and Lido in the Lagoon of Venice, Adriatic Sea. Our
neotype can be considered a near topotype as it comes from
Torcello, Lagoon of Venice, collected from tidal mud in 1995.
