Description D is the holotype.
Specimens from the type locality in Sardinia, Paleocene (SBZ 2). Note the feathering (fea) of the ventral cameral sutures. (A–E) Axial sections. (F) Oblique section almost perpendicular to the coiling axis. (G–L, N) Oblique sections with vari- ous inclinations. (M) Transverse section, parallel to coiling axis and oblique section of Scarificatina reinholdi (Pozaryska and Szczechura, 1970). Abbreviations: s septum, f foramen, per periphery, sf septal flap, up umbilical plate, um umbo, fea feathering of the intraseptal interlocular space, fo folium, fu funnel, foa foliar aperture, ils intraseptal interlocular space.
