Abstract
    Nineteen new species of Muricidae are described from the New Zealand region. They are referred to Ponderia Houart, 1986 (1 species), Comptella Finlay, 1926 (6), Enixotrophon Iredale, 1929 (1), Leptotrophon Houart, 1995 (2), and Terefundus Finlay, 1926 (7), with a further two species in a new genus of Pagodulinae based on Axymene traversi (Hutton, 1873), which includes A. teres Finlay, 1930 and Xymene huttonii (Murdoch, 1900). A further new genus of unknown affinity within the family is introduced for Terefundus anomala Dell, 1956, with which T. axirugosus Dell, 1956 is newly synonymised. Comptella coronatus Dell, 1956 is newly referred to Terefundus.
